Friday 11 November Benjamin Staern was awarded Contemporary Award of the Year - chamber music/smaller ensemble at The Swedish Music Publishers Association's Annual Music Publisher's Award, for his chamber symphony Bells and Waves.

There are many songs with lyrics by Tomas Tranströmer. Most of them are in Swedish, but Sinfonia 8 for Mezzo-soprano, Baritone and Orchestra by Daniel Börtz is translated into English.

On 7 April Dan Styffe premiered Rolf Martinsson’s Double Bass Concerto No.1 on his Gasparo da Salo bass dated ca. 1580.

Performed by the amazing Martin Fröst, Martinsson's Concert Fantastique will receive its UK premiere with the CBSO in Birmingham this autumn as well as two performances with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic.

After 50 performances of Rolf Martinsson’s trumpet concerto Bridge Håkan Hardenberger will bring the concerto to Vienna in December.
