Six part mixed choir a cappella. Commissioned by Radio 4, dedicated to The Netherland’s Radio Choir and The HaarlemInternational Choral Bienale
The Austrian expressionist painter Egon Schiele also wrote poems. This was observed by the Brazilian director Celso Antunes, and the texts became the starting pint for a commission to Sven-David Sandström from the Netherland’s Radio to write a work for choir.
In this piece, the composer returns to the virtuoso style which has brought him so much attention internationally. The spirit of expressionism as with Schiele corresponds to a high degree to the music of Sandström.
