THE SELECTION
Arias for Young Voices is the perfect beginner’s aria anthology that provides a complete platform to launch your classical singing studies. The repertoire is selected to develop young voices in ages 16–26. Arias for Young Voices contains opera arias and sacred arias from the early days of opera to the 21th century specially selected for the needs of young voices. The standard of the arias is such that they can be performed in auditions, proposed for concert programmes, sung in church concerts, recitals, and at singing competitions and scholarship tests. And, of course, we can perform these arias with pleasure and great satisfaction for the rest of our lives.
THE COMMENTARY
Each aria is accompanied by a short biography about composers and librettists, information about the premiere, vocabulary, voice fach, synopsis and information about act or movement. In addition, useful tips on other roles and arias if you want to continue singing more music by the same composer.
THE LANGUAGES
All original laguages in the music: English, German, French, Italian and Latin but also Swedish, Norwegian and Czech. All languages are translated into English and also have full IPA translations.
THE MUSIC
The range of the aria is noted. The music also has basic chord analysis for the less experienced piano player.

Arias for Young Voices is edited and compiled by Barbro Marklund – one of Scandinavia 's most sought after and experienced singing teacher. Former professor of singing at the Norwegian Academy of Music and at the Opera Academy in Oslo. Marklund is known for her vast knowledge of repertory from all eras and languages. She is very active as a guest teacher, leader of master classes, jury member in singing competitions and a member of the exam commissions all over the world.
