Jan Yngwe: Stilla natt–fantasi för kör a cappella
At upcoming Christmas concerts, perhaps a new version of Stilla natt /Silent Night might come in handy? Jan Yngwe has composed five beautiful minutes for SATB with an upper part for a soprano soloist. Jan's preface is well worth reading and at the end of the piece he has included a text reading of Hans Näslund’s Poem No. 17 – Shall it be lost?
Ann-Sofi Söderqvist: Crossroads
“Say, what are you bringing to the crossroads? Whom do you want to be?” asks lyricist Malin Hülphers in this tribute to the humankind. The big band leader Ann-Sofi Söderqvist creates a sonorous and rhythmic texture that culminates in a tender, unison “We are human beings. We are one”. Crossroads for six-part choir a cappella was commissioned by Lone Larsen and the ensemble VoNo and was included in VoNo’s stage performance I Am Like Many.

Karin Rehnqvist was sitting in her garden humming and a bird wanted to join in singing, so Wiegenlieder im All came about, a piece with both text and music by Karin Rehnqvist. Wiegenlieder im All, lullaby in outer space is written for mixed choir and the Eurasian blackcap.
Marie Sandell: Liknöjd fauna
Liknöjd fauna/Indifferent Fauna by Marie Sandell is a choral suite in five movements for solo group and mixed choir a cappella with text by the Swedish poet Aase Berg. The music is basically tonal but also contains speech choir and dramatic elements as well as occasional choreographic instructions.
