pourChœur from Switzerland

sings Stjärntändningen by Oskar Lindberg (1887-1955)

The Swiss vocal ensemble pourChœur was founded in 2012 by two friends from the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, Switzerland: Samuel Strub and Marco Beltrani. The singers of pourChœur share a special love for Scandinavian music, not only for its musical language, but for the actual sound of the words. In the fourth film from #swedishchoralmusic 2021, pourChœur sings the classical and much beloved Stjärntändningen by Oskar Lindberg - in Swedish.

"We call it the "bröllops-song", says singer Salome Kornfeld in her greeting, "because if you listen carefully, the third word of the song is bröllops- (wedding). And just the sound of the word bröllops and saying it out loud in our mother tounge Swiss German makes us genuinely happy."
